Gas Training Courses & Assessments:

Gas Foundation Diploma.

Course Overview:

The in-depth Gas Foundation Diploma training course has been specifically developed for persons who are seeking
Gas Safe Registration for the first time. It is designed to teach candidates the practical skills, knowledge and
understanding to work safely in the installation, commissioning and servicing of domestic gas appliances and pipe
work.

Who is this training course for?

This course is for candidates aged 17+ with a desire to seek employment within the gas industry for the first time.

Course Duration:

This course can be undertaken on either a 20 day full time basis (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm) or a 26 week
part time basis (1 day per week, 9:00am to 4:30pm or 2 evenings per week, 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Weekdays or
Saturdays available).

Topic Areas Covered:

? Gas safety Legislation.         ? Flues and chimneys.
? Pipe work and materials.        ? Gas safety controls.
? Tightness testing and purging.  ? Unsafe situations.
? Ventilation.                    ? Appliances.

Training & Assessment methods:

Candidates will be assessed both practically and theoretically throughout the duration of this course at our purpose
built training centre and will also have to provide on-site evidence supervised by a registered Gas Safe engineer.

Course Achievements:

Successful candidates will be awarded fully accredited BPEC Domestic Gas Foundation certification.

Progression Routes:

Successful candidates will be eligible to progress onto the ACS CCN1 Core Gas Safety Assessment and any
associated ACS appliance assessments.

Additional Information:

Candidates are required to attend our purpose built Gas Training & Assessment Centre to undertake all ‘off the job’
assessments in accordance with the course criteria. Once the in-house training has been successfully completed,
candidates will then be required to complete the ‘on the job’ evidence from their work placement to be eligible to
undertake the ACS CCN1 (Core Gas Safety) assessment and any associated appliance assessments. Once the
ACS assessments are successfully completed, candidates will be able to register with Gas Safe or seek employment
with a Gas Safe Registered company as an operative.
